More about Tramo

TRAMO, an acronym for "Trabajos Molestos" (Annoying Jobs), was a design brand founded by the renowned Spanish designer Miguel Milá in the 1950s. It emerged as an ingenious response to the scarcity of resources and materials in post-war Spain, where creativity and functionality were essential to overcoming the limitations of the time.

Miguel Milà, a pioneer of Spanish industrial design, created TRAMO to produce and market functional design products that were both practical and accessible. The company focused on creating furniture and lamps that, despite their apparent simplicity, stood out for their durability, utility, and timeless design. TRAMO’s products, such as the iconic TMC and TMM lamps, reflected Milá's philosophy of combining traditional craftsmanship with industrial production, resulting in pieces that seamlessly integrate into any environment.

The name "Trabajos Molestos" reflects the entrepreneurial spirit of Milá and his team, who faced the challenges of the era with ingenuity and determination. Despite its success and impact on Spanish design, TRAMO closed in 1961. Although its operational period was relatively short, the company left a lasting mark on industrial design in Spain, and its legacy endures in the iconic pieces Miguel Milá created during that time. Today, TRAMO remains a reference point, symbolizing the perfect blend of simplicity, functionality, and timeless beauty.
